Sphere is announcing the opening of a new office in downtown Ottawa on May 1st.
Following the recent announcement of two new original animated series, including Riley Rocket, Sphere is increasing its production capacity with the opening of a new office in Ottawa and the hiring of more than 100 employees to complement the already existing teams in Montreal and Toronto.
“The opening of a new Sphere office in Ottawa is great news for us,” said Bruno Dubé, President and CEO. “We chose Ottawa because the conditions are ideal and the capital is an important market which represents a new pool of qualified talent for Sphere. Thank you to the team at Invest Ottawa and the Ottawa Film Office for supporting us in our project.”
“We are thrilled that Sphere has chosen Ottawa for their latest expansion,” said Michael Tremblay, President and CEO of Invest Ottawa. “This serves as an excellent example of another leading company choosing Ottawa for its diverse and highly-skilled talent base. We look forward to continuing to work with Sphere’s leadership and staff over the coming months as they establish and grow their presence in Canada’s capital.”
“We welcome Sphere’s decision to open an office in Ottawa. Sphere’s local presence will strengthen the city’s position as an attractive centre for the creation of live-action and animated productions,” added Stephanie Davy, the Ottawa Film Office’s Marketing and Communications Officer. “We are delighted to have this leading Canadian company join Ottawa’s thriving screen-based production sector, and we can’t wait to see the amazing content it will produce here.”
As of May 1st, Sphere will have three offices in Canada: Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa.
