Telefilm Canada announced yesterday financial support for 12 English-language feature film projects, including Ethel a new feature film produced by PORT PICTURES (Ireland) and Sphere Media (formerly GO Films). Ethel is the story of Ethel Stark, the founder of the Montreal Women’s Symphony Orchestra in the 1940s. The film, planned to be released in 2023 will be directed by Aisling Walsh and distributed by Sphere Films Canada – Formerly MK2 I Mile End Movies.
