We follow novelist Justine Gamache, who returns to her native island after seven years for a reading of her novel. She finds her community divided over a hotel development project, then a fatal incident ruled as a suicide by the police prompts her and gamekeeper Michael St-Germain to conduct their own investigation to uncover the island’s buried secrets.
