Sphere Media named Innovative Producer of the Year at the Rockie Awards

Sort Of also receives an award in the international competition program

Sphere Media received last night the Innovative Producer Award at the Rockie Awards, part of the Banff World Media Festival.

The award recognizes the entrepreneurial excellence and achievements of an independent producer in TV/digital media.

Original comedy Sort Of also took top honors in the international competition program on Monday, winning the Rogers Prize for Excellence in Canadian Content.

“I’m deeply touched that the Innovative Producer Award was presented to Sphere Media, and I share this honor with our entire team,” said Bruno Dubé, CEO. “Sphere’s vision has always been clear: to build a strong team comprising people from different cultures, with diverse backgrounds and identities, speaking different languages, with complementary knowledge and skills to tell extraordinary stories. This is what makes us strong at Sphere and allows us to innovate.”

2023 was an exceptional year for Sphere Media, which won 22 Canadian Screen Awards, as well as several Canadian and international prizes for its original series The Porter, Sort Of and Transplant.
